Having started out with this wonderful breed in 1987 I am as enthusiastic today as I was back then when we bought our first two girls. It wasn’t long before we decided we would like to try breeding so with the help of one of our girl’s breeders we had our first litter in 1989. Showing soon followed and eventually the breed absorbed our whole life from breeding, exhibiting and judging. I have served on breed Club committees for many years and since 2021 I have been the serving Chairman of the CKCS Club. All of which is made so much more enjoyable by all the likeminded friends you make along the way. Our kennel has had a share of success, crowning 24 British Champions and many more across Europe and the USA. Our dogs (all different) have won Best of Breed at Crufts on five occasions. Also, they have taken Best in Show at the UK Cavalier Club show numerous times. Our most successful show Cavalier is Multi Champion Pascavale Haiden having a successful career both in the UK and then in the US in both systems accumulating in a AKC Best in Show all breeds.
Our bloodlines have been used often by other breeders which is a huge compliment. One notable prolific sire was Champion Pascavale Enchanted, Teddy. He made a breeding impact siring multi champions in the UK, Europe and in the USA. Teddy was the top Cavalier sire in the UK for three years and then for a further three years in the USA. Teddy is in fact the AKC top pointed Cavalier sire in US history, an achievement that makes us very proud. I have been judging Cavaliers exclusively since 1993 and I have been a Royal Kennel Club Championship licenced judge since 2003. Internationally I have been regularly judging Cavaliers since 2004 and completed assignments in over twenty countries. My judging CV includes the honour of judging the UK Cavalier Club show in 2016 and Crufts in 2024. Having judged my breed around the World for over 20 years including in Finland, so it is an immense honour to be asked back to judge for the Finnish Cavalier Club and at the World Dog Show.

Soley Ragna Ragnarsdottir​

Iceland

Sóley Ragna is a dog enthusiast from Iceland, born and raised in the “Dog World.” Her passion for dogs has been lifelong, starting with a Boxer, and later a Miniature Schnauzer and a home full of Griffons. Sóley has been deeply involved in her mother’s small but successful breeding program, breeding Griffons under the prefix “Halastjörnu.” Today, she is the proud owner of an Icelandic Sheepdog and a Petit Brabançon.
Her dedication to the dog world began early—before turning 10, Sóley was already attending every dog-related seminar she could find, volunteering at events hosted by the Icelandic Kennel Club, and spending hours researching pedigrees and show results. As a teenager, she competed in Junior Handling, worked as a ring secretary and enjoyed assisting professional groomers when she had the chance.
In 2011, Sóley began her education to become an FCI judge despite her young age. She was licensed to judge her first breeds in 2014 and has since steadily expanded her knowledge. Sóley has stayed active within the Icelandic Kennel Club, contributing to several committees, serving as a correspondent for the Icelandic Sheepdog Club, and working at various events.

What a trip to World Dog Show Helsinki 2025!
First time attending overseas show other than UK… and first time flying… no problem!

Lou travelled well and showed like he was at home in Irish shows to win CAC & BOB under breed specialist judge Michael Levy of Pascavale cavalier in UK. What a thrilled that was! At World show next day he was second to CAC winner and called back for reserve. We had to make quick get away to airport to catch flight home so missed saying good by to a lot people. We had so much fun and have to say we will do it again!
Thanks so much for Michael for wonderful critique and choosing him as his winner! And also thanks to Pauliina Lantta, Johanna & Anu Junikka for help at shows. And Ria Kavelaars for keeping us company at circuit show but biggest thanks have to go to Kitty’s sister Frances for looking after the family… we never have any worry to go away! It was so lovely to see so many people from all over the world! Sorry didn’t get taking photos with all but I’m sure we will see each other again!
