Jack Mitchell was judging Cavaliers at the Scottish Kennel Club show on 21st May 1982. The Bitch CC, her fifth, went to Messrs Rix and Berry's blenheim Ch. Ricksbury Only Charm aged two and a half years. She was by Ch. Homaranne Caption out of Ricksbury Cool Charm. Reserve was Mrs Coaker's blenheim (Ch.) Homerbrent Bewitched.
The Dog CC, his second, went to Miss Sheila Smith's tricolour (Ch) Salador Celtic Prince at just twelve months old. He was by Salador Chelsea of Loranka out of Salador Cherrybird.
Reserve was Mrs Irving's blenheim Sweetbriar Billie Jo. Ch Ricksbury Only Charm was BOB.

Birmingham results from 7th May 1982.

Messrs Hall and Evans were judging with Alan Hall awarding the Dog CC, his second, to Mrs Millican's (Ch) Peatland Norseman, a two year old tricolour. He was by Ch. Alansmere Sandmartin out of Peatland Rebecca.
John Evans gave the Bitch CC (her third) to Mrs Milton's (Ch) Fontelania Capricious, a three year old tricolour. She was by Farne Silver Shadow of McGoogans out of Fontelania Cameiro and was awarded her first two CC's in 1980. One at the Midland Cavalier Club show by David Williams and the second, a week later, under Mrs Schlizzi at LKA.
Reserve CCs went to Mrs Archer's blenheim (Ch) Jia Remus and to Mrs Higgins blenheim (Ch) Cottismeer Gem Signet. BOB was awarded to Capricious.

The WELKS All Breeds Champ show on the 2nd May 1982 had Mary Ford (Hazelbury) judging dogs and Barbara Reynolds (Leynsord) bitches. Interesting, that Caroline Gillies (McGoogans) writing in the Dog World Breed Notes made mention of a cold WELKS after a warm spell and this change in the weather was having an effect on the dogs coats with many of them 'on the blow'.


Winning BOB, and his first CC, was Di Fry's two year old blenheim (Ch) Naval Rating of Amantra by Amantra Naval Encounter ex Amantra Wild Honey Pie.

The bitch CC went to Molly Coaker's post graduate winner

a 20 months old blenheim by Ch Homaranne Caption ex Homerbrent Shirley.


The Reserves were Mr and Mrs Dix's black and tan boy, Pippbrook Theobald and Rix and Berry's blenheim bitch Ch Ricksbury Only Charm

On the 19th June 1982 at Border Union Championship Show, Miss Betty Dowd (Tregarron) was awarding CC's for the first time. Dog CC, his third, went to Jill Owen's two year old blenheim (Ch.) Parkwall Horizon JW. He is by Ch. Crisdig Ted x Parkwall Maid of Mourne. His first CC came from Miss P. Turle at SKC in 1981 and the second from Mrs M. Coaker at W of E CKCSC in 1981. RCC went to Miss Smith's Ch. Salador Celtic Prince.
The bitch CC, also her third, went to Sheila Smith's two year old blenheim (Ch) Salador Crystabelle JW. ChSaladorCrystabelleShe is by Ch Homerbrent Samson x Ch Salador Crystal Gayle. Her two previous CC's were 1981 at Welsh KC under Mrs Catherine Sutton and in 1981 at Midland Counties under Brigadier Burgess.
Res CC Mrs L. Steven's three year old blenheim Amantra Harbour Queen of Milkeyn by Ch. Amantra Anchors Away x Amantra Bohemian Queen.

Joan Winters writes in the Breed Notes for July 1982 of receiving a letter from Barbara Stanley (Astraddle) who judged the Cavalier Club of Ireland Championship Show. Barbara was delighted to meet Miss Bartels of Loch Fee fame and had a chat about past cavaliers. A record entry for the club of 112 dogs, Barbara says that type and size is as varied as ours over here. Best in Show and Green Star went to the blenheim bitch (Ch) Vandyck Jester of Leonfort;
Green Star d og, (Ch) Lahume Master Vagabond, also a blenheim.

Joan Winters (Kentonville) judged dogs at Three Counties Show on the 17th June 1982. She gave the CC (his second) to Pam Thornhill's three and a half year old blenheim, Witsend Humdinger of Kindrum, (Kindrum Ludo x Witsend Modesty Forbids). Reserve CC went to Mrs Fereday's 19 month old tricolour, (Ch) Rhybank Myrhlyn (Ch. Littlebreach Zachary of Chacombe x Rhybank Felicity).

Awarding certificates for the first time, Barbara Spencer (Sanubray) gave the Bitch CC (her 4th) to Liz Thornhill's four year old blen Ch. Kindrum Sylvia (Kindrum Barnacle Bill x Kindrum Cosy). Reserve went to Mrs Coaker's three year old blenheim, (Ch) Homerbrent Bewitched (Ch Homaranne Caption x Ch Homerbrent Samantha).

A lovely hot day on 5th June 1982 saw Sir Dudley Forwood judging at Southern Counties. His Dog CC was a first for Simpson and Bromley's twenty two month old blenheim, Kinnvaras Newstime of Huntsbank by Ch. Huntsbank Vagabond out of Kinnvaras Solitude.

Res CC went to Mrs Rooney's two and a half year old blenheim, Highcurley Poseidon (DunhelmThe Admiral x Highcurley Phantasy).

Bitch CC (her second) went to Mrs Stark's four year old blenheim (Ch.) Tabitha of Tayfern by Ch. Rupurts Ivanhoe out of Bernadina of Cardsfarm.

Res CC went to Rix and Berry's four and a half year old blenheim, Ricksbury Cool Charm (Rosemar Ulysses of Leynsord x Crisdig Saucy Sue

Ellis Hulme judged the dogs at South Wales Ch. Show on 9th July 1982. He gave a third CC to Molly Coaker's (Ch) Homerbrent Pegasus, Res CC went to Sheila Smith's Ch Salador Celtic Prince. Harry Jordan who was judging bitches, gave a 2nd CC to Molly Coaker's (Ch) Homerbrent Bewitched with the Res CC going to Mrs S. M. Wilkinson's two and a half year old black and tan Poppywood Wych Hazel by Ch. Cadeyrn Black Tulip x Estelle of Mandalay at Poppywood. "Pegasus" took Best of Breed.

On 14th July at Paignton Ch. Show, Les Page was officiating and found his Dog CC winner in Mrs Di and Miss Tracy Fry's two year old blenheim (Ch) Naval Rating of Amantra.This his 2nd CC, he is by Amantra Naval Encounter x Amantra Wild Honey Pie. Res CC was Mrs Susan Burgess' three and a half year old blenheim Ch. Crisdig Ted (Ch. Crisdig Leading Seaman x Ranee of Jann-Graye Crustadele).

Bitch CC (her seventh) went to Messrs Rix and Berry's Ch. Ricksbury Only Charm with the Res CC going to the Fry's three year old blenheim Amantra Sea Fantasy (Amantra Sea Wolfe x Amantra Bohemian Queen).
Next to the East of England Show on 20th July 1982 where Dallas Archer found her Dog CC (his 2nd) in Rhybank Myrhlyn. Res CC went to Mr and Mrs Scott's two and a half year old blenheim Danicott Dear Boy at Kevlorel (Ch Crisdig Leading Seaman x Alansmere Mermaid).

Judging bitches Susan Burgess gave a third CC to (Ch) Homerbrent Bewitched with Res CC going to Miss E. Thornhill's Ch. Kindrum Sylvia.
Best of Breed was "Myrhlyn"

Blackpool Championship Show on the 27th June 1982 saw Dog Judge Mrs Nora Down award a fourth CC to Miss Sheila Smith's tricolour Ch. Salador Celtic Prince. Res CC went to Mrs Coaker's four year old blenheim (Ch) Homerbrent Pegasus (by Arkle of Homerbrent x Lobb Bathsheba).

Bitches were judged by Miss Caroline Gatheral (Kershope) who awarded the CC (her sixth) to Messrs Rix and Berry's blenheim Ch. Ricksbury Only Charm who also took BOB.
Res CC went to Miss Smith's three year old ruby Ch. Salador Coppergleam (by Salador Charlock x Salador Cascade).

Four days later on 1st July 1982 was the turn of Windsor Championship Show. Miss Pamela Turle (Sunninghill) was judging bitches and awarded the CC (her first) to Mrs Gertrude Biddle's four and a half year old blenheim Alansmere Minette of Ottermouth (by Ch Alansmere Sand Martin x Ch Bredonvale Mirabelle) she also took BOB.

Res CC went again to Ch. Salador Coppergleam.
Mrs Peggy Talbot judged dogs and gave a first CC to Mrs Heather Fereday's nineteen month old tricolour (Ch) Rhybank Myrhlyn. Res CC went to Mrs Pam Thornhill's eighteen months old blenheim Cinola Saxon of Kindrum (by Cinola Status Quo x Standock Lulu of Cinola).

THE MIDLAND CKCS Club was founded in 1976 with 74 Cavaliers entered for judge Joyce Green at the gala opening party and members show held at the home of Pam Turle (Sunninghill). Here are some pictures 14 years later (from the coverage by Dog World) of their 11th Championship show in 1990 where the entry was 438 for judges Judy Wright and Betty Purkis. 104 puppies were entered in the 4 puppy classes!

ChBarideneRoyalSerenadeofCharlesworthBred by J.K. Gough, his 1st CC came from Bill Siggers at Belfast '80 and the 2nd from the late Harry Glover at the Welsh KC in '81. He is by Kindrum Barnacle Bill x Baridene Sweet Serenade.

Reserve went to Mrs Reeves two year old ruby VerestaJocelynVeresta Jocelyn by Jet of Veresta x McGoogans Sunshine.
Judging bitches was Joe Braddon and he gave a 1st CC to Mr and Mrs Lucas' two year old blenheim AmantraStatusSeekerofSaleka.
